Dana White Responds to Bjorn Rebney, Calls Latter “Biggest Scumbag in The History of Combat Sports”
By FCF Staff
Following recent comments from Bjorn Rebney, where the former Bellator President has been highly critical of the UFC, it hasn’t taken Dana White long to fire back.
Last week Rebney announced that he is serving as an advisor for the MMA Athletes Association, which is hoping secure higher pay and more benefit for UFC fighters. During a media call to announce the association, Rebney blasted the UFC and how it treats fighters, and in a follow up interview, he called the promotion “bullies”.
White was a guest on the UFC’s official podcast recently. During the interview, the UFC President said this about the MMA AA and Rebney (quote via MMA Fighting.com):
“Listen, I don’t know enough about it to really speak on it. The only thing I need to know is the biggest scumbag in the history of combat sports — Bjork — is involved in this thing.
“And if you’re a fighter — listen, there’s three unions out there now all battling against each other. And if you’re a fighter, these guys are all looking to get in your pocket. It’s another business, it’s a business where guys are going to make money. And if you’re a fighter and this is what you want to do, you’ve got to figure out whose hand you want in your pocket. And I guarantee you, you don’t want Bjork’s hand in your pocket. You know what I mean?”
The MMA AA has also announced it’s fighter board, which includes Georges St-Pierre, Tim Kennedy, Cain Velasquez, Donald Cerrone and TJ Dillashaw. The group says they do not intend to secure official union status.
