Dana White Says Hector Lombard vs. Rousimar Palhares Set For December 14th
By FCF Staff
The UFC confirmed another compelling middleweight bout Friday, as the promotion’s President Dana White announced that Hector Lombard will fight Rousimar Palhares on December 14th. The bout will be part of the UFC on FX 6 card in Australia, where Lombard has spent much of his career competing.
White made the announcement via his official Twitter account.
The venue and location for the event has not been announced, however, it’s expected to feature the finals of the upcoming United Kingdom vs. Australia “Ultimate Fighter” series.
Lombard (31-3) will be looking to rebound from a disappointing Octagon debut in July, as the former Bellator champ lost by split decision to middleweight contender Tim Boetsch. The defeat ended Lombard’s awe inspiring 25 fight undefeated streak.
Palhares (14-4) will also be looking to get back on track, as the feared submission artist is coming off a first round, TKO loss to Alan Belcher in May. Palhares had won three straight prior to the defeat.
Earlier today the UFC announced that rising middleweight Chris Weidman will fight the aforementioned Boetsch on December 29th.
