UFC Fight Night 50 has picked up a compelling fight as a result of UFC 176’s cancellation, as Dana White is reporting Gegard Mousasi vs. “Jacare” Souza has been moved to the event. The UFC President recently tweeted the bout’s new card.

UFC FN 50 will be hosted by the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Ledyard, Connecticut on September 5th, the same night Bellator will host an event in nearby Uncasville.

Mousasi and Souza had been scheduled to fight on August 2nd, but after Jose Aldo was recently forced to withdraw from the headliner, UFC 176 was eventually cancelled.

Souza (20-3) is coming off wins over Chris Camozzi, Yushin Okami and most recently Francis Carmont since joining the UFC.

Mousasi (35-4-2) scored an impressive, first round submission win over Mark Munoz in his last outing, which took place in May. The middleweight has gone 2-1 in the UFC to date.
