Dana White Says Ronda Rousey Remains UFC’s Biggest Star, But Conor McGregor’s “Nipping at Her Heels”

2015 was a massive year for Conor McGregor, so much so, Dana White says “Notorious” isn’t far behind Ronda Ronda in terms of drawing power.
Last year also saw Rousey continue her rise into superstar status, as the decorated Judoka and actress became a mainstream phenomenon. Before the year closed out, however, Rousey was KO’d by Holly Holm, while McGregor took out Jose Aldo to secure the 145 title.
“Everything this woman does, she’s incredible,” White said. “She’s an unbelievable athlete, personality, friend, partner … you name it, Ronda Rousey is amazing. I think Ronda Rousey is the biggest star in the UFC, but let me tell you what, Conor McGregor is nipping at her heels.”
It remains to be seen when Rousey will fight again. Following her loss to Holm it was believed she would rematch the new champion at UFC 200. Recently White reported, however, that Rousey will likely need more time off due to her role in the upcoming remake of “Roadhouse”.
McGregor, meanwhile, is scheduled to fight lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos on March 5th.
