Dana White Says UFC & Khabib Nurmagomedov Have “Worked it Out”

Khabib Nurmagomedov

Last week, Khabib Nurmagomedov warned the UFC that if the promotion cuts his teammate, Zubaira Tukhugov, he’ll walk away from the company. But now Dana White’s reporting that the parties have worked out their issues.

Following the post-fight brawl at UFC 229, which allegedly included Tukhugov attacking Conor McGregor, White said the fighter would be released. That prompted Nurmagomedov to warn the promotion that if Tukhugov is let go, he won’t be returning to the UFC either.

More recently, TMZ caught up with White, and while discussing the tensions with Nurmagomedov, he said this (quotes via MMA Fighting):

“We’re good,” White said. “We’re good with Khabib. You guys are still posting that s**t, that was a week ago. A week ago! A lot happens in a week in this business.”

“We’re good,” White said. “We worked it out. We’re gonna get everything worked out. Obviously, he was a little upset, he was a little fired up. We’ll get it all worked out. Guys get very emotional, man. That was a very emotional fight for him, obviously. And at the end of the day, Khabib’s a great guy. We’ve always had a great relationship with him. So it’s all good, brother. This will all work out.”

When White was asked if Tukhugov would in fact be cut, the UFC President stopped short of saying yes. Tukhugov was scheduled to fight McGregor’s teammate, Artem Lobov, October 27th, but recently it was reported Michael Johnson will likely replace Tukhugov.

Nurmagomedov submitted McGregor in the fourth round of the October 6th, UFC 229 card.
