There’s been no shortage of discussion and debate as to whether the UFC will book an immediate rematch between Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit, and according to Dana White, the promotion doesn’t know what’s next for the welterweight title.

Lawler and Condit fought in the headliner of UFC 195 last weekend, and the latter lost the bout via split decision. Since the fight was so competitive and entertaining, there have been widespread calls for an immediate rematch.

White appeared on the latest edition of “UFC Tonight” on Wednesday, and when asked about the possibility of a rematch, he stated (quote via FOX Sports press release):

“I don’t know. They were just in a five-round war. I’m not talking to them about fighting right now. It was a very close fight. It all depends on how you score that third round.”

After the fight, the challenger Condit relayed that he isn’t sure if he’ll fight again. White was asked whether he’s talked to Condit about the fighter’s plans, and the UFC President stated:

“No, I haven’t. I leave guys alone for a while and let them spend time with family and heal up before I ever call about fighting.”

The January 2nd bout marked the second time Lawler has defended the welterweight title, since he defeated Johny Hendricks in December, 2014 to win the belt.
