After meeting with Khabib Nurmagomedov Friday to discuss whether he’ll fight again, Dana White’s announced he’ll announce the star’s decision during the UFC on ABC 1 broadcast.

Following the meeting, White posted a video on Instagram, in which he announced this (quote via MMA Junkie).

“I met with Khabib Nurmagomedov last night, and today at three o’clock on the east coast, on ABC the network, I’m going to talk about his decision, and how it’s going to impact the Poirier-McGregor fight next weekend, and the co-main event in the lightweight division.”

Nurmagomedov announced he was retiring in October, after submitting Justin Gaethje at UFC 254. The lightweight champ revealed that after his father passed away earlier in 2020, he promised his mother that bout would be his last.

White met with Nurmagomedov to try to convince him to return for at least one more fight.

Update: during the UFC on ABC 1 broadcast, White reported that Nurmagomedov could decided to fight again, if Dustin Poirier, Conor McGregor, Dan Hooker or Michael Chandler record an impressive win at UFC 257.

White also said Nurmagomedov was impressed with Charles Oliveira’s win over Tony Ferguson, and that ‘do Bronx’ could also prompt the star’s return, if he records another emphatic win.
