Dana White: UFC’s Working on Big Fight For Nate Diaz
By FCF Staff
Recently Dana White reported that he wasn’t betting on Nate Diaz fighting this coming year. But, now the UFC President’s reporting the promotion is working on a big bout for Diaz, at 155 pounds.
Diaz (20-12) hasn’t fought now since November, 2019, when he lost via TKO (due to doctor stoppage) to Jorge Masvidal. Earlier this month, White said he hopes to see Diaz fight this year, but that he isn’t “counting on it.”
But, while talking to The MacLife more recently, White said this (quotes via MMA Junkie).
“We’re working on a Nate Diaz fight right now, and it’s not Tony (Ferguson). But if we get it done, I think you’re gonna like it.”
“It would put him in a really good position if he won the fight, and the guy who he could potentially be fighting, I think it’s a great fight for him, too.”
The 35-year-old Diaz has gone 3-2 in his last 5 bouts.
