TJ Dillashaw has been criticized by some for his decision to leave Team Alpha Male, but Dana White doesn’t feel that the bantamweight champ should be taking heat for the move.

Last month, Dillashaw announced that he’s decided to go train with the Elevation Fight Team, which is located in the Denver, Colorado region. Although Dillashaw also reported that he’s going to be paid to do so, not everyone believes his decision to leave TAM was the right one. The Sacramento gym’s leader, Urijah Faber, was also critical of Dillashaw’s decision, and has announced the latter will not be welcome to train with the team.

Recently White spoke to UFC.com about Dillashaw’s upcoming, January 17th fight with former champ Dominick Cruz. During the interview, White was asked for his take on Dillashaw’s departure from TAM, and the UFC President said this:

“I think that TJ made a move that he felt was right for him and you can’t fault a guy for that.”

And in terms of Dillashaw-Cruz, White had this to say:

“If Dominick had been here the whole time he probably would have been the champ. And now TJ has come in and TJ looks real good,” said White. “This is going to be an unbelievable title fight.”

Dillashaw-Cruz will headline UFC Fight Night 81, which will be hosted by Boston’s TD Garden.
