Khabib Nurmagomedov has gone undefeated to date in his MMA career, and according to his teammate Daniel Cormier, that’s not going to change.

Nurmagomedov recently secured the UFC’s lightweight championship, by working his way to a clear cut, decision win over Al Iaquinta at UFC 223. With the win, the vaunted grappler moved his pro-record to 26-0.

Recently Cormier spoke with the media, as part of a promotional event for his upcoming, coaching role on “The Ultimate Fighter”. While doing so, the light-heavyweight champ said this about Nurmagomedov (quote via MMA Fighting):

“He’ll be the only guy that never loses,” Cormier said. “He’s not going to lose, man. They won’t know how to deal with him. He’s going to be the only guy that goes through this whole thing without losing. Because I’m not sure he’s going to be here that long. But while he’s here, nobody’s going to beat him.”

“He’ll fight Conor McGregor. It’s going to happen. I think because of the finances, it will be the most viable fight for [McGregor]. He created more interest in that fight with that crazy action that he did. He’s going to get taken down and smashed.”

Cormier, meanwhile, is scheduled to challenge heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic on July 7th.
