After being hospitalized in December due to a serious motorcycle accident, and being told he may never walk again, Daniel Straus is reporting he’s back to training.
The former Bellator champ, who is 33 year’s old, recently appeared on MMA Junkie Radio. During the interview, Straus relayed the following about his status, and his plans to return to the cage (quote via MMA Junkie):
“I’m looking for this year. I’m really looking forward to this year. More than just fighting, mentally I need it for myself. I need to get back. All fighters know when it comes to having to push yourself, you have to get in a certain position. I’m in that position now. I don’t think about fighting one day or down the line. … I’m already sparring and wrestling – I’m doing everything I shouldn’t be doing. It’s only a matter of time before I step back in the cage.”
Straus’ last bout took place in October, 2017, when he was submitted by Emmanual Sanchez.
