Darren Till Reports UFC Has Granted His Release
By FCF Staff
It looks like Darren Till’s nearly eight-year-long run with the UFC has come to an end, at least for the time being.
The 30-year-old fighter, who is coming off a submission loss to Dricus du Plessis in December, recently confirmed that he’s been released by the UFC. According to the English fighter, however, he requested that he be released from the promotion.
What’s happening everyone, Me, Dana & Hunter are still cool as f*ck,” Till wrote, referencing UFC executives Dana White and Hunter Campbell. “I asked UFC 2 remove me just 2 sort some other sh*t for the foreseeable, They happily agreed to release me out of contract which I appreciate. I’m not going anywhere, got big plans to execute & I’ll be back.

Till’s loss to du Plessis was his third straight defeat, and the fifth in his last six contests. After joining the UFC in 2015, Till (18-5-1) moved up the welterweight ranks by going undefeated in his first six bouts with the organization.
As a result, Till was tapped to face then reigning champion, Tyron Woodley in September, 2018. Till was submitted in round two.
