Jorge Masvidal is the betting lines underdog heading into his fight with Ben Askren, but Darren Till believes the man who knocked him out in March, could indeed hand “Funky” his first loss.

Masvidal faced Till at UFC London this past spring, and finished the British star in round two with a booming punch. Recently Till was asked to weigh-in on Masvidal’s July 6th fight with Askren, while talking to Fighters Only, and the welterweight said this (quotes via MMA Mania):

“I think him and Askren … I don’t wanna underestimate Masvidal, I wanna stay on the fence with this fight,” Till said. “Masvidal could just pull something off the back or defend the takedowns. Ben’s doing okay and he’s got a lot of hype around him. The thing about Ben is he’s a good fighter, he’s a very smart guy, he just loves the sound of his own voice. Just shut up, mate, give it a rest.”

Askren – Masvidal will be part of UFC 239, which will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Askren is coming off a controversial, technical submission win over Robbie Lawler in March,
