Demetrious Johnson to Defend UFC Featherweight Title Versus John Moraga April 13th
Cole Miller Facing Bart Palaszewski
By FCF Staff
After news surfaced earlier today about two new additions to the upcoming, April 13th, TUF 17 Finale, the UFC has announced that flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson will fight John Moraga at the event. As a result, it will mark the first time that a UFC championship has been on the line at a “Ultimate Fighter” Finale.
Johnson (17-2) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Jon Dodson at UFC on FOX 6 last month, after defeating Joseph Benavidez by split decision in September to become the promotion’s first flyweight champ.
Moraga (13-1) has impressed in two Octagon performances to date, as the Arizona fighter has knocked out Ulysses Gomez and submitted Chris Cariaso, the latter of which took place at UFC 155 in December.
The promotion has also announced that Bart Palaszewski (36-16) will take on fellow featherweight vet Cole Miller (18-7) at the card, and that Justin Lawrence (4-1) will battle featherweight Daniel Pineda (17-9).
Other bouts that have been confirmed for the Las Vegas bound, TUF 17 Finale include heavyweight Travis Browne versus Gabriel Gonzaga and bantamweight Miesha Tate vs. Cat Zingano.
