“Rampage” Jackson Says Bout With Glover Teixeira Set

By FCF Staff

The UFC has confirmed that Demetrious Johnson will defend his flyweight title against Jon Dodson, as expected, January 26th at the promotion’s next FOX broadcast. In addition, the UFC has announced that a previously reported lightweight bout between Anthony Pettis and Donald Cerrone will take place on that night.

“Rampage” Jackson has also announced via his Twitter account that he will fight Glover Teixeira at the upcoming event.

The UFC on FOX 6 card will be hosted by Chicago’s United Center and will be aired live on FOX.

Johnson (16-2) is coming off a split decision win over Joseph Benavidez in September to become the promotion’s first flyweight champion, while Dodson (14-5) stopped Jussier da Silva in his last bout on October 5th.

Cerrone (19-4) and Pettis (15-2) are both coming off highlight reel wins, as Cerrone KO’d Melvin Guillard in August while Pettis stopped Joe Lauzon in February.

Jackson (32-10) will be looking to rebound from the unanimous decision loss he suffered versus Ryan Bader in February, while Teixeira (19-2) will be looking to build on the TKO win he recorded versus Fabio Maldonado on October 13th.

The two light-heavyweights were set to fight at UFC 153 that night but Jackson was forced to withdraw due to injury.

The UFC has not made any official announcement about the Jackson, Teixeira bout.
