In advance of Demian Maia’s May 14th bout with Matt Brown, the vaunted grappler has received his fourth degree, black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

The 38 year-old welterweight, who many view as one of the best, if not the best grappler in all of MMA, received the belt recently in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Maia is riding a four fight winning streak as he gets set to face Brown. The latter is coming off a submission win over Tim Means, after being decisioned by Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler in consecutive fights.

Maia – Brown will be part of UFC 198, which will take place in Curitiba, Brazil.
