The December 12th, UFC 194 card certainly won’t be short on drawing power, as now the promotion has announced that Demian Maia will take on fellow welterweight contender Gunnar Nelson at the event.

The upcoming card will feature featherweight champ Jose Aldo taking on Conor McGregor, middleweight champ Chris Weidman versus Luke Rockhold, and “Jacare” Souza taking on fellow middleweight contender Yoel Romero. Recently the UFC also booked Urijah Faber-Frankie Saenz and Max Holloway – Jeremy Stephens for the card.

Maia (21-6) is coming off an impressive, submission win over Neil Magny in August and has won three straight.

Nelson (14-1-1) tapped out Brandon Thatch in his last outing, after he was decisioned by Rick Story last October.

UFC 194 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
