Denis Kang Stopped by Seung Bae Whi to Record Second Consecutive Loss

By FCF Staff

Former UFC and Pride Bushido middleweight Denis Kang lost for the second time in a row this weekend, as the veteran was stopped in the second round by Seung Bae Whi while competing at a Road FC event in Seoul, South Korea.

Kang, whose left eye appeared to be completely swollen shut, was sent to the canvas after getting caught during a wild striking exchange with Bae Whi. The Korean fighter followed up with a series of knee strikes to Kang’s head which prompted the referee’s intervention.

The defeat comes approximately two months after Kang was submitted by former “Ultimate Fighter” competitor Jesse Taylor in the first round while fighting under the Battlefield Fight League Banner in British Columbia, Canada.

Kang has gone 2-2-1 since he was released from the UFC after being stopped by Michael Bisping in November, 2009. The 33 year-old veteran’s last win came in April, when Kang worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Eun Soo Lee at Road FC 2. Kang’s record now sits at 34-14-2.

Bae Whi has won back-to-back bouts and carries an overall record of 7-3.
