Derrick Lewis Lists Who “Makes Sense” For Next Opponent
By FCF Staff
Derrick Lewis will remain a top five ranked heavyweight, following UFC Vegas 6, and the feared slugger has some ideas on who he should fight next.
Lewis took on Aleksei Oleinik in the main event of Saturday’s card, and after surviving some submission attempts in round one, he finished the fight with strikes in round two. The victory was the third straight for Lewis, who is currently ranked #4 in the UFC’s heavyweight division.
While talking to the media afterward, Lewis discussed who he’s interested in fighting next (quotes via MMA Junkie).
“Curtis Blaydes makes sense,” Lewis said. “(Francis) Ngnannou makes sense. (Alistair) Overeem makes sense. That’s about it. We’ll see what happens next week and see who makes sense after that match. I for sure have to get down 15-20 pounds to feel comfortable in there. Yep, then you’ll really see something scary out of me, for sure.”
The 35-year-old Lewis moved his overall record to 24-7, with 1 no-contest with his latest win.
