Following the cancellation of UFC Fight Night 97, where Derrick Lewis was scheduled to compete, the UFC has booked the heavyweight for a main event fight with Shamil Abdurakhimov.

Recently the UFC announced that Lewis – Abdurakhimov will headline its December 9th card in Albany, New York.

Lewis (16-4) is riding a four fight winning streak and is coming off a split decision win over Roy Nelson in July.

Abdurakhimov (17-3), meanwhile, earned a split decision win over Walt Harris in his last fight, which took place earlier this month.

The promotion has also announced that a heavyweight fight between Francis Ngannou (8-1) and Anthony Hamilton (15_5) will serve as the co-main event.

The December 9th card will be hosted by the Times Union Center.
