Urijah Faber may be facing longtime rival and UFC bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz for a third time this summer in Las Vegas.

A third “rubber match” between UFC bantamweight (135 pound) champion Dominick Cruz (19-1) and former champion Urijah Faber (26-5) is a strong possibility for UFC 148 in Las Vegas, Nev. on July 7, according to UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta.

Fertitta revealed this possible matchup between the two rival superstars and opposing coaches on the upcoming season of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series on FX, via Twitter during an extensive online chat with fight fans.

Faber won the first meeting between the two, a defense of his WEC featherweight (145 pounds) title via submission at WEC 26.  Cruz evened the score  with a unanimous decision victory over Faber at UFC 132 on July 2, 2011.

A venue in Las Vegas has not been confirmed yet for UFC 148.  A fan expo will coincide with the event, though.
