Following Jon Jones’ latest title defense, debate whether there’s any legitimate challenger ready for the light-heavyweight champ has spiked. But, according to rising contender Dominick Reyes, he’s more than ready to face the renowned fighter.

Jones took on Thiago Santos last weekend at UFC 239, and emerged from the contest with a split decision victory. As a result of the win, the only fighter Jones hasn’t defeated in the top five ranks of the UFC’s 205 division is the aforementioned Reyes.

Well, recently Jones asked fans who he should fight next, and when one responded with Reyes, the champ tweeted this:

Somebody ask him if he wants some smoke

Reyes appeared on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show Monday, and when asked to respond to Jones, the 29-year-old said this (quotes via MMA Mania):

“Absolutely, I want all that smoke. Not just the smoke, I am ready to jump in the fire”

“I am the next guy up. I am 5-0 (UFC), beat two former title challengers back-to-back. I’m the next guy, I am number four and he (Jones) already beat everybody in front of me and I am ready to go. I think it’s a fun matchup.”

Reyes (11-0) is coming off a split decision win over Volkan Oezdemir in March. In October, he earned a decision win over Ovince Saint Preux.
