Duke Roufus: “A Big Part Of Striking People Forget About Is The Ability Not To Get Hit; It’s Even More Important Than Hitting”

Trainer, four-time world Muay Thai champion and former K-1 USA competitor Jeff “Duke” Roufus goes one-on-one with Full Contact Fighter correspondent Jimmy Smith.

Roufus, a pioneer of Muay Thai in The United States, has used his extensive experience as a professional kickboxer to strengthen the striking skills of today’s MMA fighters, most notably UFC stars Pat Barry, Stephan Bonnar Anthony Pettis and Ben Rothwell as well as undefeated Bellator Welterweight (170 pounds) Champion Ben Askren, whom Roufus helped coach to victory over Douglas Lima at Bellator 64 on Fri., April 6.
