Dustin Poirier Confirms Benoit Saint Denis Fight is Proceeding, Apologizes For “Misunderstanding”

After initially reporting that an announced fight with Benoit Saint Denis isn’t happening, Dustin Poirier has since confirmed the match-up is a go.
A few weeks ago, the UFC announced that Poirier is going to fight Saint Denis at UFC 299, March 9th. But, on Thursday, Poirier reported that the bout was in never signed and they had been unable to come to terms with the UFC.
More recently, however, Poirier confirmed via social media that the bout is indeed, proceeding.

Poirier (29-8) is coming off a knockout loss to Justin Gaethje in July, following a submission win over Michael Chandler in November, 2022.
Saint Denis (13-1) is riding a five-fight winning streak and in his last outing, in November, he KO’d Matt Frevola.
UFC 299 is being hosted by Miami, Florida. In the main event, bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley will take on Marlon Vera.
