Dustin Poirier Hypes “One More Dance”
By FCF Staff
Following Dustin Poirier’s loss to Islam Makhachev last month, he repeatedly said his fighting days could be over. But, it looks like “The Diamond” is hoping to complete at least one more time.
Leading up to Poirier’s bout with the lightweight champ, he said UFC 303 could mark the last time he fights. Makhachev won the thrilling fight via fifth-round submission, and Poirier reported he was leaning towards retirement.
But, more recently, the 35-year-old shared these comments and proposals via social media.
If arman can’t fight let’s go again @MAKHACHEVMMA

Since Poirier’s initial post, Makhachev responded with “no thanks”. The consensus is that the UFC hopes to have Makhachev face Tsarukyan later in 2024.
Poirier (30-9) has gone 2-3 in his last five fights. Prior to facing Makhachev, he knocked out Benoit Saint Denis in March.
