Dustin Poirier Responds to Colby Covington, After Latter Leaks Sparring Video
By FCF Staff
Colby Covington recently posted a video of Dustin Poirier dropping a sparring partner, and ‘The Diamond’ has responded.
Recently Covington shared out the video below, and took some verbal jabs at his former teammate as well.
The guy wearing full nerf gear head to toe to protect his face and his feelings is Poirier. The guy with no headgear, wrestling credentials or brain cells left is “khabib.” @DustinPoirier Good guy? Bad guy? You be the judge👨⚖️ #AndNew #UFC264 pic.twitter.com/EMMFwC2b4E

Since then, Poirier responded to Covington with the following comment, while referring to his sparring partner, Felipe Douglas.

In addition, the former UFC interim lightweight champ told UFC Arabia the following (quotes via MMA Junkie).
“I didn’t want people to think that was an amateur kid or something like that,” Poirier said. “That was a professional fighter. I mean, that’s what happens in gyms during hard sparring, real sparring. There’s times when you drill, and train, and stuff like that, but there’s times where you hard spar and that was a hard sparring session.”
Poirier is set to fight Conor McGregor in a rubber match this Saturday at UFC 264. The event will take place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
