A featherweight matchup between top prospects Dustin Poirier and Erik Koch has been confirmed for the upcoming UFC 164 event in Milwaukee.

Both fighters confirmed the fight via Twitter on Thursday.

Poirier (13-3) entered the UFC and went on to win four straight matches. Since submitting Max Holloway at UFC 143, Poirier has gone 1-2 losing to Chan Sung Jung and Cub Swanson.

His opponent, Erik Koch (13-2) had his four-fight win streak snapped by the elbows of Ricardo Lamas at UFC on Fox 6. Prior to this setback, Koch’s heavy hands led him to two ‘knockout of the night” victories over Francisco Rivera and Raphael Assuncao.

The two will face off at UFC 164 to be held at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 31. This addition marks the third confirmed fight for the event. Heavyweights Brandon Vera and Ben Rothwell will faceoff in their confirmed fight, while featherweight Clay Guida and Chad Mendes will meet as well.
