The former UFC and Bellator champ was stopped by Timofey Nastyukhin in the opening round of the tourney. But when the latter withdrew due to injury, Alvarez was booked to fight Eduard Folayang in the semifinals this past August. Alvarez won that fight via first round, submission.
Sityodtong has confirmed to MMA Junkie that Lee’s lightweight title will not be on the line in the fight with Arslanaliev.
