Josh Taylor was unable to return to the win column on Saturday, as the decorated boxer was outscored by Ekow Essuman while fighting in his home country of Scotland.

Taylor (19-3) lost to Essuman (22-1) via scores of 115-113, 116-113, and 116-112. The former undisputed undisputed light-welterweight champion has lost three straight.

Essuman, meanwhile, secured the WBO Global welterweight title with the victory.

The Glasgow card also saw rising heavyweight star Moses Itauma (12-0) stop Mike Balogun (21-2) in round two with a booming, right-hand. Itauma, who is only 20, retained the WBA International and WBO Inter-Continental heavyweight titles with the win.
