Enomoto Subs Zavurov to Take M-1 Global Welterweight Title

Enomoto

By FCF Staff

Yasubey Enomoto made the most of his rematch opportunity tonight in Costa Mesa, California, as the Swiss fighter submitted Russia’s Shamil Zavurov with a late fifth round, guillotine choke to become M-1 Global’s welterweight champion. With the win, Enomoto avenged a unanimous decision loss he incurred against Zavurov in April, a bout which he had taken on short notice.

Enomoto (9-3) has now won three straight and improved his 2011 record to 3-1, while the loss ended Zavurov’s (18-2) 13 fight win streak.

Here are the results from tonight’s M-1 Challenge XXX card, which was hosted by Costa Mesa’s Hanger facility.
