The Ultimate Fighting Championship has recently announced that the UFC on Fuel TV 10, scheduled for June 8, will be the stage where welterweights Erick Silva and John Hathaway face off.

Silva (14-3) is coming off of a tough loss to Jon Fitch at UFC 153, a valiant effort which rewarded him with Fight of The Night awards, with Silva’s only other UFC defeat coming after illegal punches to the back of Carlo Prater’s head caused him to disqualify. The Brazilian was victorious in his only other UFC matches, coming away with two first round stoppage wins.

England’s John Hathaway (17-1) is coming off of three consecutive decision victories over the past two years. Hathaway is best remembered for his win against Diego Sanchez, back at UFC 114; unfortunately, the young contender followed that appearance with a disappointing loss to Mike Pyle, essentially stopping his impressive run through the ranks.

Silva was set to fight Jay Hieron at UFC 156, but an injury forced him to back out of the fight. This will mark his first bout since missing that appearance.

UFC on Fuel TV 10 is set to take place in Fortaleza, Brazil and will double as the The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 2 finale.
