Stout

By FCF Staff

The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s upcoming return to Brazil has two new lightweight additions, as today the promotion has confirmed that Terry Etim will take on Edson Barboza and Sam Stout will fight Thiago Tavares on the January 14th card.

The city and venue for UFC 142 has yet to be announced, however, the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janiero has been reported as the likely destination.

It didn’t take long for Etim (15-3) to find out who he is fighting next, as the British fighter competed this past Saturday at UFC 138 and tapped out Edward Faaloloto in just 17 seconds.

The undefeated Barboza (9-0) hasn’t fought since August when he worked his way to a split decision over Ross Pearson at UFC 134.

Stout (17-6-1) fought last in  June and knocked out Yves Edwards in the first round at UFC 131.

Tavares (16-4-1) is also coming off a win, as the lightweight stopped veteran Spencer Fisher at the aforementioned UFC 134 card.

UFC 142 will feature a featherweight bout between champion Jose Aldo and challenger Chad Mendes, as well as a middleweight tilt between Vitor Belfort and Anthony Johnson.
