Francis Ngannou has done nothing but win since he’s arrived in the UFC, and Fabricio Werdum believes that trend will continue, when the heavyweight faces the champ, Stipe Miocic.

Ngannou secured a title fight with Miocic earlier this month at UFC 218, by knocking out Alistair Overeem in the first round. The surging fighter is expected to challenge Miocic on January 20th, at UFC 220 in Boston.

Recently Werdum spoke with Portal do Vale Tudo, and he was asked to give his thoughts, on Miocic – Ngannou (quote via Bloody Elbow):

“Ngannou has a lot of power, but I don’t think he’s very technical. However, I still believe he’ll surprise Miocic and knock him out. They both enjoy trading shots, so if Miocic doesn’t have the right strategy, that big black guy will knock him out. Ngannou is very confident and that can make a difference, if he really connects, you’re going down, as we saw with Overeem.”

“I can already see myself submitting him, though, and becoming champion again. That’s my goal, to have a third belt on my wall and I really do believe it’ll happen. I’m sure I’m next. I’ll be waiting for him in April or so.”

Werdum, meanwhile, is coming off a decision win over Marcin Tybura in November. In May, 2016, his reign as champion was ended by Miocic, who knocked him out in the opening round.
