Belfort’s Sister’s Case:
Back to square one as hopes fade away once again

By Eduardo Alonso

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Vitor Belfort’s family drama continues, as another sad piece of news took away the newest sight of hope of finding Priscila Belfort alive and in good condition. As it was reported by the mainstream Brazilian media, as well as FCF, this past weekend footage of a "Train surfer" girl who looked to be on drugs brought hope that the girl could be Belfort’s sister herself, as they looked very much alike. Unfortunately, police have now determined that the girl is not Vitor Belfort’s sister. With the big effort by the Brazilian Media, the police was able to locate the "Train surfer" girl and find out she was not Priscila, bringing investigations back to the beginning once again, as no real clues of where Priscila Vieira Belfort is right now, or whether or not she’s still alive. The whole situation brought even more pain to the family, as "The Phenom" stated to the Brazilian press that his grandmother is now not feeling well, since she was so willing to believe that the girl doing the "Train surfing" was Priscila. Vitor’s mother has also being ill with the situation, and FCF still hopes for a good outcome with Priscila being found alive and well as soon as possible.

First XFO Event Set for March 13 at Wisconsin Border

XFO poster
FONTANA, Wis. — Just over a month after realizing his dream of fighting in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Jeff Curran will be back in the ring hoping to start a new winning streak.
Curran fought up a weight class in the UFC on a week’s notice and lost a decision to Matt Serra on January 31st. Next up for the Ironheart Crown champion is a battle with Dan "The Pennsylvania Hitman" Swift in the main event of the inaugural Xtreme Fighting Organization (XFO) event March 13 at The Abbey Resort, located at Lake Geneva.
Swift has been fighting the Midwest circuit for some time and has put together five wins in his last six bouts.
"I’m expecting a tough fight," Curran said. "People say I can’t knock him out, but I’m going to give it my best."
Curran boasts a 17-7 record and is ranked No. 6 in the world at 145 pounds.
The XFO was originally set for the Lakemoor Banquet Facility in Lakemoor, Ill., but recent political woes in the state forced the show to be moved a short distance past the border into Wisconsin.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with the first bout starting at 7:30.
Another UFC veteran, Adrian Serrano of Milwaukee, will also be competing. He will take on Bill Hill, who has put together four straight wins since losing to Jeremy Horn on an Extreme Challenge event last year.
In other feature bouts, Bart Palaszewski looks for his 7th straight victory, but will have his hands full with powerful Antoine Skinner, while Jason Guida and Steve Dau battle in a rematch of a fight ruled a no-contest last year.
In a heavyweight battle, Damien Decorah faces Carvin Mafatau in a battle of sluggers.
Tickets start at $25 and are available by calling Curran Martial Arts (815) 356-0454; Gilbert Grappling (630) 327-4754; Hapkido Institute (630) 715-4870; Serrano’s Gym (414) 358-0909; and Dan Lardy (815) 245-2066.
The Abbey Resort is the official hotel for the XFO and discounted room rates are available by calling (800) 558-2405 and mentioning the XFO. The after-fight party also will be hosted at The Abbey Resort.
