Following Georges St-Pierre’s decision to vacate the UFC’s middleweight title, and the news he’s been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, increasingly it looks like 2018 will unfold without him fighting.

When St-Pierre announced he was returning to the Octagon, the Canadian talked about fighting several times, provided he won the bouts. In November, he returned to the Octagon for the first time since 2013, and choked Michael Bisping out to win the 185 title.

But, due to St-Pierre’s medical issues, his future in fighting remains in doubt. Recently his head coach, Firas Zahabi, told Fight Hub TV that the soon to be 37 year-old fighter will competed again. But, Zahabi also said that he believes GSP could be sidelined for “at least a year or two”.

Since news of the former welterweight champ’s colitis diagnosis, St-Pierre has said he doesn’t believe he’ll can compete at middleweight.
