After Colby Covington secured the interim welterweight title this past weekend at UFC 225, he resumed verbally blasting Tyron Woodley, and now the champ has responded.

Covington won the interim belt at the Chicago event, by earning a decision win over Rafael dos Anjos. Following the win, the controversial fighter called out Woodley once again. More recently, Woodley had this to say about his rival during a social media, live stream (quotes via MMA Junkie):

“Literally, I’m going to try to hurt him so (expletive) bad that they’re never going want to let me fight in the UFC again,” Woodley said in the video. “That’s a fact. …

“I’m not going to knock you out quick. It’s not going to be no first-round knockout. I’m going to embarrass you. I’m going to talk to you the whole (expletive) fight. I’m going to tell the referee, ‘Get back. Do not get in my way. Do not stop this. I’ll tell you when it’s time to stop this.’”

Woodley has not fought since last July, when he defended the 170 title by earning a decision win over Demian Maia.
