Following Loss to Daniel Cormier, Josh Barnett Releases X Ray of Broken Hand

By FCF Staff

Following his unanimous decision loss to Daniel Cormier Saturday, in the finale of Strikeforce’s Heavyweight Grand Prix, Josh Barnett announced that he had broken his left hand shortly into the bout.

The charismatic fighter and former UFC champ has since posted an X ray of the damaged hand via his Twitter account and added:

Here’s what happened in the first :30…still threw it though. Of course that might not have so wise LOL.

It remains to be seen just how long the injury will keep Barnett on the sidelines, and further, whether the 34 year-old’s next bout will take place in Strikeforce or the UFC.

The loss to Cormier marked the first time Barnett has been defeated since 2006, when he lost by UD to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira while competing for Pride.

Barnett (31-6) advanced to the finals of the Grand Prix by scoring submission wins over Brett Rogers and Sergei Kharitonov.
