Foot Injury Pulls Jose Aldo From UFC 153
By FCF Staff
On the same day that the UFC was forced to announce that “Rampage” Jackson can no longer compete in the co-main-event of its October 13th event, Dana White has confirmed that headliner Jose Aldo is also out due to injury.
Speaking via his official Twitter account, White recently announced:
Now Aldo is out with foot injury. Main and co main in the same day!! Another amazing day at the UFC. We have some work to do
It remains to be seen whether Aldo’s opponent Frankie Edgar remains on the card, considering the he was tapped to replace the featherweight champ’s original opponent Erik Koch.
Depending on the severity of the injury Aldo is at risk of competing just once in 2012. The highly regarded fighter hasn’t fought since January when he KO’d Chad Mendes in the first round.
White relayed earlier on Tuesday that Jackson would no longer fight Glover Teixeira as scheduled to due injury.
UFC 153 is scheduled to take place at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro.
