Will Brooks already has Bellator’s lightweight championship on his resume, and the new free agent is confident he can add the UFC’s 155 title to his record as well.

Recently Bellator confirmed that it has decided to part ways with Brooks, following a run where the highly regarded fighter was critical of the promotion. In recent months, Brooks let it be known that he didn’t agree with Bellator’s marketing, and argued home grown stars like himself weren’t receiving enough of a push.

The 29 year-old appeared on “The MMA Hour” recently, and while discussing his future, Brooks had this to say about the UFC (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“I would never shy away from that,” Brooks said. “I’ve let people know plenty of times and I’ll continue to say that. I believe that I can go out there and beat anybody in the lightweight division of the UFC and seize that title and be the man on top. I just have that belief in my body and I have that in my bones and I can feel it. I know I can do it. If that opportunity presents itself, I will definitely seize that moment. I will take that opportunity.”

Brooks is riding an eight fight winning streak and currently holds a record of 17-1.
