Former GLORY Champ Alex Pereira Announces He’s Officially Joined The UFC (Video)

Recently it was reported that Alex Pereira was heading to the UFC, and now the former GLORY champ has officially announced the move.

Heading into Pereira’s September 9th, kickboxing match with Artem Vakhitov, it was reported the renowned striker was leaving GLORY for the UFC. Now, Pereira has posted the video below, which shows him signing his UFC contract.

It was initially reported by BJ Penn.com that Pereira is going to fight Andreas Michailidis (13-4) at UFC 268 on November 6.

The 34-year-old Pereira won both GLORY’s middleweight and interim light heavyweight titles during his run with the kickboxing promotion. Pereira lost the aforementioned, September 9 bout with Vakhitov by split decision.

The hard-hitting fighter holds two wins over current, UFC middleweight champ Israel Adesanya in the kickboxing ring, one of which was by knockout.

Pereira holds a record of 33-7 in kickboxing and 3-1 in MMA. The Brazilian returned to the MMA cage last November for the first time since 2016, and knocked out Thomas Powell at LFA 95.

UFC 268 will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
