Former UFC Fighter Tim Hague Dies Following Knockout in Boxing Bout
By FCF Staff
Former UFC competitor and one of Canada’s most experienced heavyweight fighters, Tim Hague, has died following a knockout loss he incurred in a boxing bout Friday.
The 34 year-old Hague was hospitalized after he was KO’d by Adam Braidwood in a fight that took place in Edmonton, Alberta. Hague’s sister, Jackie Neil, released the statement below after the fighter passed away (via CBC):
“It is with incredible sadness, sorrow and heartbreak to report that Tim has passed away today.”
“He was surrounded by family, listening to his favourite songs. We will miss him so greatly.”
Hague, who was an elementary school teacher, made his way to the UFC in 2009, and submitted Pat Barry in his first bout. More recently, the heavyweight had been stopped in four of his last five, MMA bouts, before facing Braidwood.
All of us at Full Contact Fighter extended our deepest condolences to Hague’s friends and family.
