Former Welterweight Champ Lyman Good Returning to Tourney Format at Bellator 74

Good

By FCF Staff

Following Lyman Good’s 13 second knockout of Levon Maynard this April, Bellator has announced that the former champion will compete in the promotion’s upcoming Season 7 welterweight tourney. The competition will get underway on September 28th at Caesars Atlantic City.

Good’s quarterfinal and Bellator 74 opponent has not been confirmed.

“Caesars Atlantic City has become a second home to Bellator, so kicking off our seventh season in New Jersey was a very easy decision to make,” Bellator Chairman & CEO Bjorn Rebney was quoted saying in a press release from the promotion. “Atlantic City is a classic fight town and New Jersey is a hotbed for mixed martial arts, so our fans should expect another great night of fights.”

Prior to the win over Maynard, Good (12-2) hadn’t fought since April, 2011, when he dropped a slit decision loss to Rick Hawn at Bellator 39.

The New York fighter and 27 year-old-veteran is 3-2 in his last five fights.
