The Ultimate Fighting Championship has confirmed two high profile bouts for its upcoming summer schedule, as Gray Maynard will face Clay Guida on June 22nd, and Rich Franklin will battle Cung Le July 7th.

The Maynard, Guida fight will be part of the promotion’s UFC on FX 4 in Atlantic City, and will be a five round, main event affair. The card’s host venue has not been confirmed.

Maynard (10-1) will be looking to rebound from the fourth round, stoppage loss he incurred versus former lightweight champ Frankie Edgar last October. Prior to the defeat, the noted wrestler battled Edgar to a draw at UFC 125 in January, 2011.

Guida (29-12) is also hoping to return to the winner’s column, as the resilient veteran is coming off a unanimous decision loss to current champion Ben Henderson in November. The defeat ended a four fight winning streak for Guida.

Franklin will return to the middleweight division and will meet Le at UFC 148 in Las Vegas. Frankin (28-6) hasn’t competed since February of last year, when the former middleweight champ dropped a unanimous decision loss to light-heavyweight Forrest Griffin.

Le (7-2) is coming off a stoppage loss at the hands of Wanderlei Silva in November, which marked the former Strikeforce champ’s UFC debut. Prior to the loss, Le knocked out UFC vet Scott Smith while competing for Strikeforce in June, 2010.

UFC 148 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
