If Johny Hendricks fights in the UFC again, it looks like he’ll do so in the welterweight division.

The former 170 champ closed out his UFC deal while competing at middleweight, where Hendricks was stopped twice. In his last outing, the decorated wrestler was stopped by Paulo Henrique Costa.

While appearing on MMA Junkie.com Radio recently, Hendricks revealed the following, while discussing his future and the UFC (quote via MMA Junkie):

“They want me back to 170 (pounds), and I agree,” Hendricks said. “If you’re going to keep giving me these big old 185-pounders, I’ve got to get back to 170.”

“Now that I’m training again, my weight’s dropped a lot. I’ve been watching what I’ve been eating. I’ve been conscious of what I need to do.”

The 34 year-old Hendricks has gone 1-4 in his last 5 fights, and currently holds a record of 18-8.
