So who does Jon Jones want to fight?

Jones recently told ESPN that he doesn’t want to fight Lyoto Machida because the fight was his lowest pay-per-view (PPV) draw.

Jones doesn’t want to fight Anderson Silva because he doesn’t want to beat or get beat by his “idol.”

He called Chael Sonnen “an idiot” and doesn’t want to step into the cage with him either.

This is fighting, isn’t it? If Jones wants big PPV numbers, let him move up to heavyweight and fight a big name there. Otherwise, he needs to fight the No. 1 contender.

First he will have to get by Dan Henderson on Sept. 1. Henderson is riding a four-fight win streak and is looking to drop his H-Bomb on Jones’ chin. Henderson, 41, will have his hands full against the younger, faster, more athletic Jones, 25.

Henderson has looked spectacular in his last four fights, but beating Jones would shock the world. The Henderson who KO’d Fedor, not the Henderson who ran out of gas against Jake Shields, needs to show up if he is going to pull off the upset.

Cris “Cyborg” Santos tweeted over the weekend that she expects to be released from her Strikeforce contractual obligations and that the UFC would abolish the 145 pound division. Not exactly the best way to promote a possible fight with Ronda Rousey, the 135 pound bantamweight champion, and strange considering that there was a 145-pound fight between Germaine de  Randamie and Hiroko Yamanaka on the Rousey vs. Kaufman preliminary card. Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker said Saturday night that the 145 pound division would continue.

Santos has said that she would fight a catchweight of 140 pounds against Rousey, who only wants to fight in her weight class at 135.

Are these two really arguing over five pounds?

A Rousey vs. Cyborg fight would likely not get out of the first round. It would either end with Cyborg knocking Rousey out in the first minute of the fight, or Rousey taking down Cyborg and likely tapping her out in the first minute.

Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer reports that UFC 150, headlined by Frankie Edgar vs. Ben Henderson, received 190,000 PPVs, a number that would be the lowest since 2005. No matter how you slice it, those numbers mark a disturbing trend in the popularity of MMA among mainstream fans.

Jason “Mayhem” Miller tweeted that everything is OK with him after his bizarre arrest a little more than a week ago for breaking into and ransacking a church. Miller was arrested in Mission Viejo. He was found naked.

“I am safe, with people that love me, and hope that you will join me. If I ever hurt anyone, I am sorry.”
