Former Strikeforce light-heavyweight champ Gegard Mousasi is set for a very tough test in his Octagon debut, as the UFC has confirmed that the vet will face rising contender Alexander Gustafsson on April 6th. The bout will take place in Gustafsson’s hometown of Stockholm, Sweden, and will headline what is expected to be a UFC on FUEL card.

Mousasi (33-3) is coming off a quick, submission win over Mike Kyle at Strikeforce’s last event on January 12th, which was the 27 year-old fighter’s third straight win. Mousasi has gone undefeated in six consecutive bouts since he lost the Strikeforce title to “King Mo” Lawal in April, 2010.

Gustafsson (15-1) has worked his way to the top of the UFC light-heavyweight division by winning six straight bouts and is coming off an impressive, unanimous decision win over former champ “Shogun” Rua in December.

The 26 year-old fighter could be next in line to challenge for the title if he defeats Mousasi.

The upcoming April 6th event will be hosted by Stockholm’s Ericsson Globe Arena.
