Recently Rory MacDonald elected to end his run with the UFC and sign with Bellator, and Georges St-Pierre is happy that his teammate was able to  capitalize on his free agency.

MacDonald’s UFC deal came to end following his decision loss to Stephen Thompson in June, and last week, it was revealed that the Canadian had come to terms with Bellator. Recently GSP spoke with Uproxx, in advance of  “ Kickboxer: Vengeance”, which the former welterweight champ has a role in. When asked to comment on MacDonald’s deal, GSP stated:

Oh, I am very happy for Rory. I think it’s a great move for him. He chose the best option for himself and his family. I wish him the best. We’re going to train together still. I’m very happy for him. He found a new home to make more money and, if the conditions of work are better, I’m happy. I’m all for that.

St-Pierre, meanwhile, is planning to return to the Octagon in the coming months. The Canadian star hasn’t fought since 2013.
