Recently there’s been talk about a rematch between Nick Diaz and Georges St-Pierre materializing at some juncture, but according to the latter, he would easily defeat his former rival.

Although there’s been no comments from UFC officials about booking GSP – Diaz II, some fans have been speculating about the bout, since the fighters are expected to return to action in the coming months. Recently Diaz’s suspension for testing positive for marijuana ended, and St-Pierre has said he plans to fight again, after announcing a hiatus in 2013.

The former welterweight champ spoke to Bloody Elbow.com recently, and GSP was asked if Diaz could be his next opponent.

I don’t care if it’s the first, or second, or third. If they want me to fight Nick Diaz it would be my pleasure. I don’t mind, I am not afraid of Nick Diaz, I beat him last time, and I’ll beat even worse, I’ll beat him way worse next time that I’ll fight him.

I beat him last time easily, but I was not happy – It’s one of these fights that I’m not happy with. Because I didn’t feel like I gave enough, for different reasons. It left me angry that fight, when I look back at it – maybe I won, but for some reason it left me angry and I feel like I could have done so much better.

St-Pierre worked his way to a decision win over Diaz when the fought back in 2013. Recently GSP’s jiu-jitsu coach, John Danaher, reported that the fighter was violently ill the night before the bout.
