Georges St-Pierre Weighs-In on Possibility of Fighting Anderson Silva, Says Legend’s “Not The Same”
By FCF Staff
Now that Georges St-Pierre won’t be the next man to fight Michael Bisping, many people have wondered if a fight with Anderson Silva might materialize. But, based off recent comments the former welterweight champ made, it doesn’t sound like St-Pierre is overly interested in that match-up.
Recently GSP spoke to TSN, and while doing so, he had this to say about the possibility of fighting Silva (quote via MMA Junkie):
“It could happen; it depends on the condition (because) fights are about timing,” St-Pierre said. “Sometimes the guys stock are higher, and sometimes it’s lower. You want the guy that the stock is the highest. It fluctuates. I don’t think his stock right now is very high. He’s a legend for the stuff he has done in the past, but he’s not the same as he was back in the day.”
Earlier this year, the UFC announced that St-Pierre was going to fight Bisping next. But, after GSP announced he wouldn’t be ready to return until after October, Dana White reported Yoel Romero will fight the middleweight champ.
