With the UFC having lost a couple of big name fights for its May 8 card, it looks like Giga Chikadze’s offered to fight Donald Cerrone at the event, following his big win Saturday.

Chikadze took on longtime featherweight contender Cub Swanson in the co-main event for UFC Vegas 25, and quickly finished the veteran with a thumping kick to the liver. Since then, a Twitter account attributed to the former GLORY kickboxer, tweeted out the comment below.

Hi @Cowboycerrone
I know you need someone to fight for next week i’m here in Vegas ready it will be an honor Samurai style

Cerrone was scheduled to fight Diego Sanchez – in a welterweight contest – next Saturday. Sanchez, however, was recently released by the UFC, following a dispute about the fighter’s medical records and health.

The May 8 card was also supposed to feature Cory Sandhagen taking on former bantamweight champ, T.J. Dillashaw. The latter, however, incurred a cut in training and the fight’s been postponed.

Following his win on Saturday, which was Chikadze’s sixth straight with the UFC, he also said he wants to fight Max Holloway (quotes via MMA Junkie).

“Max Holloway, it would be an honor to fight you,” Chikadze said. “You are one of the best.”

The 32-year-old Chikadze extended his MMA record to 13-2 with Saturday’s win.
